🌲 Forest Protection and Restoration Project

Forests across Ukraine, Europe, and North America are facing unprecedented pressure due to climate change, conflict, and human activity. From wildfires and illegal logging to land degradation and habitat fragmentation, the threats are vast and interconnected.

The Forest Protection and Restoration Project by GreenUnity Ukraine takes a transnational approach to assess, restore, and safeguard critical forest ecosystems. Our team works across Ukrainian, European, and American regions with environmental scientists, foresters, and policy leaders to ensure forests are resilient, biodiverse, and protected for future generations.

🔍 Key Components

  • Damage Mapping: Using satellite imagery and field inspection to identify degraded, burned, or illegally deforested areas across Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S.
  • Mine and Fire Risk Mitigation: Collaborating with fire services and demining experts to reduce threats in post-conflict and climate-vulnerable forests.
  • Community-Based Reforestation: Mobilizing local citizens and volunteers to plant trees, monitor forest health, and support local stewardship models.
  • Biodiversity Corridors: Restoring ecological corridors that allow safe wildlife migration across national boundaries.

🎯 Project Goals

  • Establish an international alliance for forest monitoring and wildfire prevention.
  • Promote climate-adaptive tree species and sustainable forestry practices globally.
  • Support legislative and policy reforms to protect forests in transatlantic cooperation frameworks.
